• DETAILED CAST METAL CROSS-GUIARD, HILT & POMMEL, SCABBARD WITH METAL FITTINGS CHAPE AND THROAT
First formed as 'THE POOR KNIGHTS OF CHRIST' to guard the passage of Pilgrims along the route to the Holy Land. After the fall of Jerusalem to Christen forces in the First Crusade the name was soon shortened to simply ‘THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR’. These legendary Knights were known as fierce fighters and the Order grew into a powerful force across all of Europe. Popular themes associate them with the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant and the supposed historical connection to the Freemasons.
