Antique Vintage French 1949 Cast Iron Award Plaque for Female BOVINS (Cattle)
This authentic vintage competition award plaque dated 1949 was presented in Meaux, a commune outside of Paris. The award was for first place in the category for female cattle that had not been in gestation (pregnant) for the past 42 months or more.
The plaque was originally red but has faded over the decades from age and weathering. The French breeders would display their award plaques on the exterior of the barn for all to see.
Today they are lovely displayed on a wall in a grouping.  Heavy, solid cast iron with raised lettering.
Measures 9.75 inches by 6 inches (center), excluding loop at the top.
