This authentic, handcrafted replica of the saber is forged and fully tempered from 1095 high carbon steel, combined with the original material of the hilt and scabbard, making it a perfect fully functional replica. It has a flexible, engraved blade and a wooden handle trimmed with leather and wrapped with brass wire. The model is the same as that worn by General Jo Shelby, a Missouri cavalry who never surrendered to command. This gorgeous saber has the words "CSA" sharply etched with acid on the hand-forged blade. Oxidized steel scabbard with brass fittings. Beautifully finished.
